Junior Teams

SATURDAY MORNING CRICKET

Hills Barbarians CC has Junior teams playing in the Parramatta District Cricket Association.  Junior Cricket is played on a Saturday mornings at local cricket grounds.

We have Junior players from 8yo-16yo playing on Saturday mornings.

Season starts in early September of each season and ends on the last weekend of March for Grand Finals.

Junior teams are usually coached by a parent, sibling or senior player from the club.  All Junior teams are expected to maintain a coach, manager and a scorer to help for fill the roles to keep the team functioning.  All parents are asked to assist with the running of the team, with padding up of the next batter, setting out the cones, putting in the wickets, to marking the crease lines.

All players and parents are asked to be present at the ground no later than 25 minutes before the scheduled start of the game.  For home games 35-30 minutes in advance of the game starting.

All guardians of players are expected to be at the ground whilst the game is played and to be there at the end to ensure the player can get home.  This responsibility can be delegated to a grandparent, sibling, or parent with consent and knowledge of the management of the team.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON CRICKET

In 2018-2019 Parramatta started a Girls only competition and Hills Barbarians have been fielding teams from 19-20.  Currently we have a Stage 1 Girls, Stage 2 Girls and Stage 3 Ladies team.

These games are played on a Saturday afternoon at local grounds and Hills Barbarians currently use Eric Mobbs 1 for girl's cricket.

FRIDAY NIGHT CRICKET

Woolworths Blast is a program that has had many names over the seasons.  Currently Woolworths is the major sponsor and Hills Barbarians has a proud tradition of running these programs with number of participants from 40-120 at different times.  This program has been run by Steve Wickman club president for 27 years and has been a great program to help many youngsters keen on sport get their first taste of sport or cricket.  The program is well supported by the parents, siblings and grandparents of all the kids in the program.  Senior Cricketers also play a role in assisting and supporting the program.

Blast is run in Mid October for 8 weeks and then again in February for another 7 weeks.  We are one of the few clubs that run more than a 10 week program and are very proud of the product we deliver.  Eric Mobbs Reserve Ferguson Avenue Castle Hill is the venue and we run this program on a Friday Evening after 6pm.

We take Blast registrations right into February of the following season, so you are welcome to join at any time. See the events page for details.
