It is with great sadness that we inform the Hills Barbarians community of the passing of Ross Howse.
From the early 2000s through 2010, Ross was a key contributor to junior cricket at Hills Barbarians CC. He and his wife Di were always ready to assist with the running of the club and encouraged others to get involved.
Their two boys, Chris and Mitch, began with the club in the Under 11s and progressed all the way through to senior cricket.
Di played an important role in the Christmas/New Year Girls Carnivals in the early days, and Ross was never far behind, lending his support wherever needed.
Ross was a dedicated scorer for the teams his boys played in and always looked for ways to help them improve. He had a passion for the boys enjoying their sport and it left a lasting impression on the teams that Jason Crawford/Steve Wickman and Andrew King coached.
Ross was a gentleman that always seemed to get the most out of life stress free, or able to make you smile in a stressful situation. We are deeply saddened by this news and extend our heartfelt condolences to Di, Sheldon, Chris, Mitch and their extended family during this difficult time. Were sure the wider Barbarians Community would like to know the sad news and hope that you can share this information with those who know the Howse family.
Sheldon has a Facebook post with the funeral details for those who would like to pay their respects on the 8th of January and ways to support with donations to the Australian Prostate Cancer in lieu of flowers.
